Affordable Audio Equipment For A High Quality Recording

by | May 2, 2013 | eLearning Tools

Want to record quality audio without breaking the bank? Don’t worry – there are affordable microphones out there that can give you a high quality recording that won’t leave a massive dent in your wallet. Finding the right audio equipment that gives the best quality recording can seem a daunting task (especially when you are trying to save a few dollars), but we are here to help!

DigitalChalk: Affordable Audio Equipment For A High Quality RecordingOne important thing to be aware of when searching for a microphone is to see if it is an omnidirectional or unidirectional microphone. Omnidirectional microphones pick up sounds from all directions, which cause the recording to have a lot of background noise. Unidirectional microphones pick up sounds from just one direction, which lessens the unwanted background noise.

Something else you will have to consider is if you want a desktop microphone or a headset. Desktop microphones tend to give you more control over the sound quality, but headsets are not a bad substitute.

Here are some of our favorite microphones to use:

  • Blue Snowball Microphone – Amazon, $69.97
  • Samson Meteor Mic USB Studio Microphone (Cardiod) – Amazon, $69.99
  • Plantronics Blackwire c620 – Amazon, $80.00

Audio is the most important aspect of any media project and knowing that there is affordable equipment that can help you record the best quality audio possible can change any media project.
