Our Story

Our mission, “Improving Lives through the Power of Knowledge”, is not simply the reason we are all excited to go to work at DigitalChalk every day, it is the root of why our company was founded and we are proud to have been delivering on that mission for nearly 20 years.

Founded in 2007, the DigitalChalk platform was the culmination of a vision set in 2001 by a group of Christian scholars and leaders who sought to provide higher education to those seeking the Hebraic foundations of their faith.  In 2002, this group formed the Hebraic Heritage Christian School of Theology (HHC).

HHC needed a delivery system that would make their course materials available online so students from around the world could work at their own pace and in their own time zones.  At that time, an online learning management system (LMS) was essentially unheard of and was uncharted territory.  Thus, the major challenge that faced this new team was how to develop an online learning system for educational content development, deployment, and delivery.

As the ideas for the system coalesced, DigitalChalk was formed to help fulfill the vision which became operational on January 1, 2007.  HCC was DigitalChalk’s first customer and we are proud to have them on our platform, still today.

From its inception, DigitalChalk and HCC were intensely focused on designing and delivering a learner-centered learning system that was available at any moment to a global market.  As one of Amazon Web Services (AWS) first customers, we beta-tested AWS’s platform while we developed and implemented a revolutionary new educational philosophy that is founded on ancient principles for the instilling of knowledge, understanding and wisdom.

Beginning with the premise that the burden of responsibility for the transfer of knowledge rests on trainers, not on learners, we were determined to take the learning process beyond the constraints of time and space which had historically restricted access to advanced knowledge.

Our learner-focused platform offers a higher dimension in training, taking the process beyond the limitations of traditional classroom space and time.  And, provides development, deployment, and delivery of learner-focused content.

Troy Tolle

Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer

Troy is responsible for DigitalChalk’s technology strategy and implementation with over 20 years of software development experience. He is a master at improving processes and functionality without compromising usability. Troy enjoys shaping the future of the learning technology industry by exploring how it can better suit people’s needs. Troy is a recognized thought leader in cloud technology and travels extensively, speaking about education, leadership, and cloud computing. Troy has a Master’s of Computer Science from NC State University, where he is a member of the Hall of Fame.

Aaron Olney

Chief Revenue Officer

Aaron brings over 25 years of experience in technology, software sales, and marketing. He has designed and executed sales strategies for several Human Capital Management companies. As an individual contributor and leader for these companies, Aaron has helped hundreds of companies hire better people faster, develop and grow their employees, improve overall organizational performance, and drive real business results. Aaron graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Sociology, Psychology, and Marketing degrees. In his free time, Aaron coaches high school soccer and runs a developmental soccer program for more than 500 kids in the Wesley Chapel area.

Ann Torry

Vice President of Marketing

Ann Torry serves as Vice President of Marketing at DigitalChalk, where she leads brand strategy, demand generation, product marketing, and go-to-market execution across key verticals. With decades of experience in SaaS learning and HR technology, Ann drives marketing initiatives that accelerate pipeline growth, strengthen market positioning, and support revenue expansion. She is passionate about building scalable marketing systems, elevating customer stories, and translating complex technology into clear value for buyers. Ann holds a degree in Journalism and Communications from Iowa State University and brings a strategic, results-focused approach to every initiative she leads.

Ben Wright

Director of Client Success

Ben brings over 20 years of client management and product development expertise to DigitalChalk, with a track record of driving success at Silicon Valley startups. He’s built his career on a simple belief: the client journey matters at every single touchpoint, especially in those make-or-break early onboarding moments. With deep experience spanning client management, communications, product management, and training, Ben has a knack for understanding how clients actually interact with products, not just how we think they do. He thrives on solving problems before they escalate and ensuring clients feel supported from day one. His blend of tech-savvy insight and genuine commitment to client success has made him a trusted partner for growing companies navigating the fast-paced startup landscape.

Lynn Honeycutt

Controller

Lynn leads all aspects of the DigitalChalk Accounting Team with integrity, efficiency, and a commitment to excellence. She brings broad experience across corporate accounting, operational oversight, litigation support, ERP system implementation, and strategic accounts receivable initiatives. Her background spans multiple industries, including upstream oil and gas, staffing services, and nonprofit organizations. Known for her meticulous attention to detail and collaborative mindset, Lynn partners closely with teams across the organization to support strong financial operations and continuous improvement. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University.
