Online Marketing Tools For the Beginner

by | Apr 30, 2019 | Business Training, Marketing

We’ve been talking a lot about building an online marketing strategy and how to do it; however, we have not touched on tools that are out there to help you succeed. There is a myriad of tools to choose from, so we’ve picked out just a few of our favorites to help you started.

Landing/Sales Pages

In online marketing, a landing page, sometimes known as a “lead capture page“, “static page“, or a “destination page“, is a single web page that appears in response to clicking on a search engine optimized search result, marketing promotion, marketing email, or an online advertisement.[ The landing page will usually display directed sales copy that is a logical extension of the advertisement, search result or link. Landing pages are used for lead generation. (Wikipedia)

A landing, or sales, page is a standalone page created with one specific purpose in mind, to secure sales for your product.

You’ll find many tool options for building sales and landing pages. Some affordable options we like are listed here.

Sales Funnels

A sales funnel is just a series of guided steps that drive a prospect to make a buying decision. It’s broken down into several steps, which can vary depending on the business model. We’ve talked about the steps in a sales funnel in previous posts.

A traditional sales funnel includes the following steps:

  1. Awareness
  2. Interest
  3. Decision
  4. Action

One of the most popular tools for sales funnels is Click Funnels – a one-stop shop for easy and effective funnel building. Other great choices are:

Social Media Images, Memes, and Ad Creation Tools:

By now you should be using social media for business. To ensure that your social media presence comes across as professional, you’ll want to take some time to familiarize yourself with image and add creation tools. They’ll help you tremendously with the appearance of your social media ads, memes, infographics, and graphics in general.

Above all, don’t get overwhelmed. These tools are created with beginning marketers in mind and are intended to make your marketing job easier so you can focus on running the rest of your online training business.

All of this is doable, just keep your end goal in mind. Use this list as a foundation. There are many other tools out there. But this is a great place to start.

Pro tip: Be sure that your website, landing page, and sales page is up to par. Without it, you’ll be driving traffic to a site where your visitors will want to make a U-turn. Aesthetics matters. Professional copy matters. Calls-to-action matter. Systems matter. It all matters. Each part of your online marketing strategy plays a role in successful sales and the more professional your online presence, the better your sales conversion rates.

As always, you’ve got this! Until next time…happy marketing and happy selling.
