DigitalChalk: Visual LearningIt’s time to now talk about the visual learning style and what can be done to create course content that will best suit people who are visual learners.  We lightly touched on the subject in our learning styles article, now let’s dive in.

Thankfully creating content for visual learners is easy, considering most online learning content is largely comprised of images, videos, and etc.

The most important thing to understand about a visual learner is that they best learn when there are images, colors and pictures incorporated into the learning content. This uses ‘visual terminology’ to draw the student’s attention to a certain image or graph.

Visual learners also succeed when they are watching the information rather than attempting to listen to the information. This helps them to keep their focus on the content and avoids possible distractions.

Note for visual learners: If you do encounter a course with quite a bit of listening involved, rather than having the content right in front of you – make sure to take notes (with different colored pens), to help better organize the information. This creates a visual story of the content and can be understood and followed easily.
